Introduction

The Balanced Leech is an innovative fly design tied primarily for stillwater fishing under an indicator. Tied by JD Flies with a bead, a pin and a jig hook giving it the ability to hang horizontally under an indicator. This variation is tied with a hackle body, bugger-style, instead of the brushed dubbing body of the original. This fly takes advantage of chop and surface movement to add action and can be highly effective in stillwater trout fishing. Can be fished in flowing waters too.
