Introduction

Chou’s Dawn Patrol Spey Fly is a short shanked spey style fly with a trailing hook. The design keeps fish from gaining leverage against a hook shank when hooked, so they are more likely to be landed. There is variation in the wing type of this fly between colors as well a hook that can be rigged up-facing or down-facing. This fly comes from steelhead afficionado Brian Chou.
